I finished a custom shawl, woven with Bambu 7 in Pearl and Indigo. The Indigo is not as dark as it sounds, actually a very nice soft blue. The weave structure is a block twill woven on the 16H AVL. I twisted the fringe (8 inches). The shawl soaked for 30 minutes in barely warm water then agitated about a minute on gentle cycle, spun out then dried flat on my rack which stretches out horizontal. When dry, I gave it a hard steam press; this brings out the shine of the fiber.
I always give my handwovens made of bamboo a hard steam press. It seems to make them resist wrinkling and if there are creases/wrinkles from being folded for a time, you can let it hang for a while and the wrinkles fall out. A great feature for garments!
January 20, Wed. The shawl is threaded; in a few minutes will wind on the warp and start weaving. Necessary household chores always get in the way. : )

This is a new website with a new shop so it has been a learning experience and taken more time than expected.
However the shop is now working ....hurray!
Now it is back to the loom!
I have a bamboo warp wound on the loom, now need to get it tied on. Since I keep the same threading I tie on to the ends of the previous warp; doing this, I can weave multiple patterns using the same threading. This new warp is turquoise and apache blue which is a couple shades darker than turquoise....the two colors will alternate in the threading. Mixing colors like this makes a piece "sing". And the results of the woven piece will be made into a Reign Coat.
